The High Heel Race is an all-inclusive event, which represents our communities’ diverse and accepting culture. Everyone in the race, male and female participants alike will wear high heels as they each carry a two dimensional birdcage up the hill where they will decorate it and return down Mechanic Street in New Hope, PA.
Be a participant or a cheerleader in the crowd - it’s always a great time. Our annual T-shirt and other collectible race memorabilia will be available for purchase at the event with Items ranging from $2 - $20 dollars, There will also be a lively DJ, 50/50 raffle and prizes for the race contestants. All proceeds benefit New Hope Celebrates (NHC), a local non-profit organization focused on highlighting the history and cultural nuances of New Hope, PA through the creation and promotion of marketing opportunities, educational activities, and cultural events.
This year the NHC team has really stepped up to continue one of New Hope's most popular and fun filled fall events which heralds in the Halloween celebration. Thanks to the efforts of Elisa Fusco, Chrissy Mertz, Gordon Pulaski and Armando Martinez along with the NHC board for their trust and support.
We are very excited to announce that we have partnered with The Logan Inn who will play host to our first ever High Heel “After Burn Party” from 6:30 – 9:00pm (directly after the race) This is a FREE event open to the public and will feature lite fare, cash bar – with autumn drink specials by our sponsor SMIRNOFF Sourced - fireside S’mores and an outdoor movie – hint it has to do with birdcages!
The competition will be fierce and feature a grand entrance by our grand marshal, Lady Nutella, our emcee for the evening, Miss Pumpkin and a performance by the legendary Carl Max as Whitney Houston, plus other local favorites. Join the many local guests and visitors including several of your favorite Drag Queens.
Mechanic Street will be closed from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm with the race taking place at 5:00 pm. Guests are encouraged to visit our NHC supporters located on Mechanic Street: Karla’s, Zoubi, Nectar, and Blue Moose – and don’t forget our “After Burn Party” at the Logan Inn.
Don’t miss this special fun-filled fall event. Meet our race winners, hang with your favorite Drag Queens and get your photo by our Giant High Heel. Donations accepted and benefit NHC and the work that they do.
